Highland Park police said the home invasion took place on Winona Road just before 10 p.m. when two men forcibly entered the home, discharging a weapon while entering.
They then forcibly restrained the residents, causing minor injuries. No one was injured by the weapon being fired.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or vehicles in the area that night to call Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222. Your information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
