League of Women Voters plans candidate debates

The League of Women Voters of Deerfield, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park and Lake Forest/Lake Bluff will be holding public candidate debates for the Illinois House District 58, Illinois Senate District 29, and the 10th Congressional District races on Feb. 26.
The debates will take place at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 Park Ave. W, Highland Park. Only opposed races will have debates. The debates are being cosponsored by the Union League Club of Chicago and will be taped by Lake Forest T.V. for rebroadcast by the various local community networks.
Below is the schedule for the debates:
• 1 p.m. - Illinois House District 58 Republican Primary candidates Mark G. Neerhof and Lauren G. Turelli
• 2 p.m. –Illinois House District 58 Democratic Primary candidates Julie Morrison and Milton J. Sumption
• 3 p.m.– 10th Congressional District Democratic Primary candidates Vivek Bavda, Aloys Rutagwibira, Brad Schneider, Llya Sheyman and John Tree
The public will be able to submit written questions for the candidates at the forum. Questions regarding the debate can be referred to Carole Weber at 847-998-8123, and Barbara Marsh at 847-729-7493. The League of Women Voters, a national nonpartisan political organization dedicated to promoting the active and informed participation of citizens in government, sponsors this event as a service to the community.
