The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Highland Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.
Highland Park
DUI
Vincent Quarta IV, 37, of the 200 block of Washington Circle, Lake Forest, was arrested Jan. 6 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence in connection with a one-car accident on the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road. Quarta also was charged with aggravated driving on a license revoked for DUI offenses, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. His court date is pending.
Brian Chard, 48, of the 300 block of West Shadow Creek, Vernon Hills, was arrested Jan. 6 and charged with driving under the influence and speeding following a stop near Green Bay Road and Deerfield Road. Chard is due in court Feb. 22.
Jovan Martinez, 21, of the 3200 block of Gabriel Avenue, Zion, was charged Jan. 6 with driving under the influence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after police responded to a driving complaint on the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road. Martinez also was charged with child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, open transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage. He is due in court Feb. 1.
Siomara Gutierrez, 35, of the 1100 block of Highway 41, Gurnee, was charged Jan. 5 with driving under the influence, speeding and other offenses following a stop on the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road. Gutierrez is due in court Feb. 15.
Omari Johnson, 27, of the 1700 block of West Northshore Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 1 with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol and other offenses following a stop on the 300 block of the Edens Expressway. His court date is Feb. 15.
A minor was charged Jan. 1 with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol and other offenses after police responded to a driving complaint on the 1700 block of Skokie Valley Road.
BATTERY
Victor Mendez-Sanchez, 27, of the 1400 block of St. Johns Ave., Highland Park, was charged Jan. 6 with domestic battery and aggravated battery to a pregnant person after police responded to a complaint at the address. The court date is pending.
DRUG OFFENSE
Arsalan Malik, 31, of the 0 to 100 block of Marion Road, Lake Forest, was charged Jan. 5 with possession of marijuana and expired registration after a stop on the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road. Malik is due in court Jan. 23.
A minor was charged Jan. 1 with possession of marijuana and speeding following a stop Jan. 1 on the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road. The minor is due in court Feb. 1.
Two minors were arrested Jan. 3 and charged with possession of marijuana after a stop on the 800 block of Central Avenue. Both are due in court Feb. 13.
