District 113 selects college bound class of 2018

The College Bound Opportunities Class of 2018 has been selected.

High School District 113 announced that 21 students from Highland Park High School and one student from Deerfield High School were picked. College Bound Opportunities is a nonprofit organization focused on the 10 communities within District 113 and Lake Forest High School District 115. CBO identifies high-achieving young people who, without support, would likely forgo post-secondary education and assists them in applying to and completing college.

CBO goals are achieved through a program of one-on-one coaching between volunteers and scholars. Additional aid provided by CBO includes tutoring, training services, laptop computers, and up to $4,000 per year in scholarships.

The CBO Class of 2018 from HPHS and DHS includes: Nahum Armenta, Lizbeth Bautista, Frankie Charles, Amy Chen, Nyche ‘Starr’ Clark, Ricardo Deyta, Ixiel Espinoza, Bryan Fiorenza, Eliezer Lopez, Rocio Lopez, Karla Medina, Yukare Nakayama, Elsie Ocampo, Elias Patino, Esteban ‘Steven’ Pineda, Christian Porras, Stephanie Portela, Jonathan Reyeros, Yareli Taboada, Kevin Toledo, Jacqueline Zamudio, and Carly McCloy.

Five additional students were selected from Lake Forest High School.
